ICN SQUID is a software tool aimed at helping small and medium sized companies address answer some of the most challenging questions likely to be facing them today, such as does my precious marketing budget actually work, and am I likely to get hacked? Larger businesses have greater resourcing and specialisation that creates a layer of resilience that constitutes a risk to smaller emerging companies. If this sounds like you, then ICN SQUID is here to help!
Version 3.3 of ICN’s SQUID software has been released today. It features a major upgrade in customisable return on investment (ROI) client reporting, the capability to work directly with the Sales Force API to utilise elements of its digital marketing effectiveness measurement tool, and the addition of more cybersecurity tools as standard.
The software deploys the ‘IPO’ methodology of ‘Input – Process – Output’, constantly looking at ways to improve identifying the source of marketing and sales leads, plus the methodology applied to enhance the quality and accuracy of the logic utilised in that identification process, to help organisations have much more confidence in where their leads and sales are coming from, so they can base marketing decision making accordingly.
In this point release, after a lot of work on the ‘Inputs’ and ‘Process’ in recent updates, a focus has been on the ‘Outputs’ side of the equation. Based on multiple live examples and utilising many live data points, enhancements in the reporting capabilities for ‘return on investment’ lead reporting have been included as standard. Part of that development has involved working with sales data collated manually in some instances, and automatically via a pilot with the Sales Force API in other instances. This enables leads accurately attributed via the SQUID algorithm to an original marketing activity source to be tracked through to the point of sale and reported on.
Marketers are able to see which parts of their marketing mix are working, and where they should perhaps allocate more time and budget, and other areas where further review is perhaps needed.
Meanwhile, as part of its commitment to continuous improvement, on the ‘Process’ side there is a further upgrade to the algorithm which provides a machine learning filter to weed out any false positives highly effectively.
The 3.3 release also includes a major cybersecurity upgrade utilising automated AI techniques to provide a constant defence towards ever increasing cybersecurity threats. This is the 4th upgrade to the cybersecurity offering since this module was incorporated into ICN SQUID in 2025 but the first to include the use of automated AI software capable of meeting the AI cyber security threat head on. This means clients using SQUID are benefitting from an environment where their cyber security risk is actually decreasing, bucking the wider market position.
In this version, automated scans now take place every 12 hours for all accounts with malware quarantined and status notifications made routinely available. Periodic automated checks of DNS records and alerts have also been introduced. AI based automated smart updates for all sites have been implemented for plugins once a day, with WordPress Core AI automated updates taking place every 2 hours. CSF port/SYNFLOOD rate limiting has been introduced as standard and connection tracking enabled.
ICN SQUID continues to be available for free to all ICN Media’s clients so all of these enhancements above are included as part of ICN’s regular client offering.
